“The films that were boycotted from the mainstream film
festivals were massively accepted by the public. This is the clear sign that we
are on the right track against fascism”, said Vipin Vijay after the screening
of his movies, ‘The Egotic World’ and ‘Venomous Fold’, during a Q&A session
at Kairali theatre.
“We are living in the era of social media wherein we can
enhance the acceptance of a film by the public no matter even if the big screen
rejects such visual work.” The director also went ahead to state that he
believes that each film will have its own specific politics but we shouldn’t
mix up any political agendas with cinema. During this interactive session Vipin
Vijay went forth to prove how he isn’t the sort of visual artist to stick to a
story board but a filmmaker who truly believes in situations life brings up to
him.
